The Opening Ceremony of Lee Kum Kee Building in Shanghai took place on 17 December 2016. Lee Kum Kee Group Chairman Mr. Lee Man Tat and his wife, Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group Chairman Mr. Charlie Lee, Lee Kum Kee family members, representatives of the Shanghai Xuhui District government, joined the occasion along with some 300 representatives from media outlets and Lee Kum Kee.
In December, Lee Kum Kee Sauce Group completed the acquisition of the office building of 3 Harbour Exchange next to Canary Wharf on the bank of River Thames in the City of London.
Iconic Hong Kong brand Lee Kum Kee recently hosted the International Young Chef Chinese Culinary Challenge 2016 (IYCCCC 2016) at Hong Kong's Chinese Culinary Institute with the overarching theme of "Celebrating Global Culinary Talent". Among 43 young chefs that took part in this prestigious competition, the winner and stand-out talent was Singapore’s Chef Aaron Tan Kean Loon, whose winning dish, the 'Lee-Kee Classic Beef Tenderloin', brought home the Gold and Distinction Awards.
On 14 October, the Lee Kum Kee Family was conferred the “Hong Kong Family Legacy Award “by the Legacy Academy to recognise its efforts in thriving family business and demonstrating the best practice in family legacy.
